One
of the knitting technique I particularly like is double knitting. It’s a truly
graceful technique as a result of which two layers of knitwear is provided, the
wrong sides beeing in the middle. Consequently the final project is fully
reversible and its both sides are aesthetically perfectly done.
The
pattern for the Doily Blanket project was provided by modifying the crocheted doily pattern into
knitting done by needles.
Thanks
to this modification the blanket happened to look modern, yet preserving a
vintage taste. To me, personally, it gives more of a recalling sweet memories
of vacations at grandma’s rural home, watching her handmade arts, feeling as
safe and warm (as well as painful bruises!).
